Follow-up: It was a user permissions issue caused by installing with a user other than the one that was configured to administer Exchange. DC are W2K3. Did forest prep and domain prep and all tested good. After installing E2K and SP3, all services started but getting NDRs. OK, looks like permissions. Reboot and nothing worked. Errors kind of indicated could not contact a DC. Reran all tests and all looked good. Then I realized I was logged on with the wrong user. I had created an exadmin user as a member of the domain admin group. However, I had installed with the installer user, which is a member of domain admin and enterprise admin, but not local admin group. Thinking permission problem, I uninstalled and then review and reinstall tomarrow. Now I wonder about W2K SP4. Again, this was a clean new box. Any comments or suggestions?
