Resource Network

This group is being created for helping professionals that are trying to connect the people they serve to resources outside of the resources their organizations provide. The participants will be able to use the listserv to share resources and upcoming community events. They can ask questions about other community resources in their area. I plan to focus primarily on Columbia, SC. I would however like to expand further, in the future. We are already doing something like this using email. I would like to use something more streamlined. This would basically be a forum for connecting people in need to available community resources through a network of agency, organization, individual, and community representatives. These representatives will be able to post specific needs or available resources on this forum. This will help reduce the number of people in need who may fall through the cracks. This would not only be a discussion group, but an action group.

We are a french assoiation promoting organic food and local agriculture. We are a group of consumers and we pay in advance for the production of the local producers. The producers deliver a basket of vegetables, cheese, bread, fruit and so on every week. We will use the list to help us to organise de delivery and the communication between members and producers.
