sending email from multiple domains

We have several projects in our organization, each of which has its own
domain name. For the most part, employees are assigned to one project or
the other and receive email as user@xxxxxxxxxxxxx or user@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
In some cases, however, it is important for an employee to be able to
receive and SEND email as a user from either domain. Is it possible to
set up a user so that he can send email from either domain and the
recipient will see the email as coming from that specific domain.
