Two domains

I am working for a costumer who ask me to set up this scenario:
each user needs two email address: man@xxxxxx e man@xxxxxxx
when an user writes mail needs to choose which account to use ( or xxx.it
or yyy.com)
the problem is that in outgoing is impossible to choose .
you can only choose the defoult smtp address
i suggest him to set up an other exchange 5.5 out of the AD domain
this exc 55 will care about an address, the exch 2000 whith the other
is right this?
anyone gets another solution for me?
