Depending on what you are monitoring and how, yes it can affect performance.

Example: If you are monitoring physical disk I/O every 2 seconds, that can
cause a small hit.

If you plan out what you what to monitor, and do so say every 15 or 30
seconds, you should be alright. Also the more counters the bigger the hit.

May be this is slightly of the topic. But I have no where to go now.I need
to discuss about this in the afternoons meeting.

Iam planning to do a performance monitoring on my server .I want run this
monitoring for a full day.

Does this logging will have any effect on the performance of the server ?

I would really appreciate if I can get some info about this ASAP.

Thank you very much
