OWA permissions

Hey Guys
A Question.
I had a problem with my OWA authentication. Turns out that I needed to
enable integrated auth on the exchweb dir in iis. However as I am aware,
a normal installation of ex2k3 will not have integrated enabled on this
site. Furthermore, the NTFS permissions on the C:\Program
Files\exchsrvr\exchweb do not allow the anonymous Inet user account
access, so how does it work normally.
Any info would be much appreciated
