Error 9318 and 9322 between exchange 5.5 and 2000

Hello
we have 2 exchange server in the same lan : 1 is 5.5 (first )2 is 2000
i can exchange mail between the 2 servers but i can't send mail on the
internet from the 2000 serveur with 9318 and 9322 errors
( unable to relay )
it works fine with owa 2000 with the same user and address !!!!
Can anybody help me
